Staffing Levels
Each Clifford House resource has its own staffing ratio:
Staff work on a set rota that provides at least two residential workers on duty during the day and one on 'sleep-in' duty at night. Additional staff and waking night care can also be provided if necessary and in an emergency the Clifford House On-Call System has a number of experienced staff who volunteer when off duty to respond to a situation immediately.
The Team Leader has responsibility for the daily running of the house, and is supervised by an experienced Social Work qualified Group Manager who is not based at the house but is directly responsible for the resource.
The Group Manager may be supported by an Assistant Group Manager who is also not based in the house but can if required work directly on shift to support and lead practice. They also assist the Team Leader in the supervision and development of staff team.
All staff are employed by the organisation, agency staff are never used. We employ staff on a full-time, part-time and relief basis and regardless of the status of their contract, they all go through the same detailed recruitment and induction process. In 2005 we received a ‘4’ for our recruitment processes and monitoring in our Annual CSCI Inspection.
The Clifford House Management Team has a firm commitment to the training and development of staff as it is fundamental to the provision of a high quality level of service.
